Hard core rockers Jerk describe their live shows as 'entertainment delivered at maximum impact.' Renowned for a no holds barred attitude on stage, Jerk fans definitely get a bang for their buck when they see them play live. It all stems from their childhood influences according to Jerk's bass player, Leeno.
'As a little kid, my mind was seared by bands like KISS and Motley Crue - bands that were happening in the 80s, showy bands. They were the formative years. There was a lot of good stuff that came out of grunge, but a lot was lost as well. The cock rock bands took it too far, they became an embarrassment, but the grunge did as well to the point where it was like I don't want to pay ten bucks to go and see a bunch of roadies on stage staring at their feet apologetic for being there. I want to go to a gig and have my eyes ripped out. I want to walk out of there exhausted.'

If you've seen the clip to Jerk's current single, 'I Hate People Like That' you'll no doubt agree that it has the desired effect. Shot by Fin Enquist (1200 Techniques) it highlights the band in a live setting giving fans a taste of what they can expect when they go to a Jerk gig. Melbourne fans can check them out on December 4 at the Espy Hotel. The band plan to bring their live and loud shows to the rest of the country early next year. Stay tuned for more details.
