Sydney-based hard/electronic rock outfit JERK today announced the departure of vocalist Johnathan Devoy.

A band spokesperson issued the following statement: "We had a great time with John, but regrettably started heading in different directions. The split is an amicable one and by mutual agreement. We wish John all the best and hope to bring Jerk back as soon as possible".

JERK are in the process of recruiting a new vocalist and are currently working on material for a new album as well as preparing for an assault on the UK and Europe later in the year.

The album "When Pure Is Defiled" in stores now.
