21-year-old Emily won over Australia's heart with her resilience and unassuming nature, endearing herself to the voting public with her individual renditions of such classics as Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody', Britney Spears '(Hit me Baby) One More Time', Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You', and even Elvis Presley's 'Blue Suede Shoes'. She also earned three touchdowns in a row from the inimitable Mark Holden.
Fans can expect to have a taste of Emily's music in the first half of this year, with her debut album to follow in the second half of the year.
For now, Emily is thrilled. "I am so grateful to be signed to SONY BMG and feel so excited this is happening to me, l want to see if l can take it all the way," she said.
Denis Handlin, Chairman & CEO SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT AUSTRALIA & NZ adds, "We welcome Emily to the SONY BMG family, l feel she is an extraordinary and unique talent and her hard work and efforts on Australian Idol show that she has a fulfilling and successful career ahead of her."
