As with Sony Music's BUSHFIRE AID album, Sony Music's proceeds from the sale of this single will be donated to the Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal through the charitable arm of the Australian Sony Group of Companies, The Sony Foundation. The writers and publishers of 'I AM AUSTRALIAN' have also generously donated their royalties from this
track to the Bushfire Appeal.

Denis Handlin AM, Chairman & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Sony Music Entertainment said:
"I am delighted to help Bruce release this special rendition of 'I am
Australian'. The performance at the memorial service was truly moving and it is a pleasure for Sony Music to release and sell this single to add to the Bushfire Appeal funds."

'I AM AUSTRALIAN' is Australia's unofficial National Anthem. Written by The Seekers' member Bruce Woodley and Dobe Newton from The
Bushwackers in 1987 it has since been embraced by Australians as a song of pride and passion that reflects our feelings and attitudes as a nation.

Bruce Woodley said "In the entire 22 year history of this famous song, this was by far its most profound and meaningful moment. I saw a nation truly connected. How we all got through the performance I will never know. It was very sad but enormously uplifting. David and Merelyn were brave and held
their emotions in check long enough to get through the song, while I nearly lost it towards the finish of the song. It was a profoundly moving experience, and an incredible honour to be able to make a
contribution like that. My daughter Claire sang a truly wonderful acapella opening chorus and you could have heard a pin drop in the arena. When we sang the last two choruses, the entire audience stood
up as a show of solidarity and respect for all those affected by the bushfires. I am told this happened all around Australia wherever people were watching the service on television. My sincere thanks goes to
Denis Handlin and Sony Music for responding so quickly and making this song available to the public at large."

Sony Music's 'BUSHFIRE AID - ARTISTS FOR THE BUSHFIRE APPEAL' double album has exceeded expectation and is one of the best selling albums of the year! It has bulleted to #1, with orders from retailers exceeding
70,000 copies.
